The National Awards Technical Committee has opened nominations for this year’s National Award for Special Achievement today.

At a press conference held at the President’s Office, Chairman of the Committee Dr Ahmed Anwar and the members of the Committee provided additional details on the National Award for Special Achievement.

Other members of the technical committee are, Dr Hassan Hameed, Dr Abdul Muhsin Mohamed, Dr Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa, Ms Aminath Reena and Mr Hussain Amir. Mr Amir is on the National Awards Technical Committee as representative of the National Awards Committee.

The Award for Special Achievement is given by the President in recognition and encouragement to those who achieve distinction for the country.

Nominations will stay open from today until 3 pm on 20 September 2012.

Nomination forms are available at the President’s Office during office hours, and can also be downloaded from the President’s Office website,www.presidencymaldives.gov.mv.
