Foreign Minister visits Japan to attend the funeral for late Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Kiichi Miyazawa

 

27 August 2007: His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Tokyo today as the Special Envoy of the President of the Maldives to attend  the funeral of late Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Kiichi Miyazawa. Minister Shahid was welcomed at Narita International Airport by the Chargé d’ Affaires of the Embassy, Mr. Ahmed Khaleel and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

During his three day official visit, Minister Shahid will also meet with Honorable Hosei Norota,  Chairman of the Japan-Maldives Parliamentary Friendship League,  officials of the Japanese government and the members of the Maldivian Community in Tokyo.
